In 2026, Argentario Golf Club celebrates its 20th anniversary, a milestone that reflects two decades of vision, uncompromising quality, and international acclaim.

The course officially opened its doors on June 2, 2006, unveiling an 18-hole layout set within one of Italy’s most breathtaking natural landscapes.

From the very beginning, the Club established itself as a leader in environmental stewardship. In 2006, it secured the BioAgriCert certification and joined the “Impegnati nel Verde” (Committed to Green) program, adopting fully eco-compatible maintenance practices.

Over the years, Argentario has served as the stage for prestigious tournaments, including the Ladies Italian Open and the National Open Championship in 2008, the 2022 Senior Italian Open, and the 2024 Italian Challenge Open. Most notably, it hosted the 82nd Italian Open from June 26–29, 2025, as part of the DP World Tour.

A pivotal moment occurred in March 2019 when The PGA selected Argentario Golf Club as the PGA National Golf Course Italy—the only facility in the country to hold this prestigious title. That same year saw the inauguration of the new Club House, the social heart of the Resort, featuring a reception, restaurant, bar, and pro shop, all opening onto a panoramic terrace overlooking the course and the Orbetello Lagoon.

In 2023, the Club further expanded its global footprint by joining the Marriott Golf Hotel Reciprocal Program. This partnership grants members exclusive access and benefits at approximately 30 affiliated courses worldwide when staying at designated Marriott properties.

Throughout its twenty-year history, the course has welcomed legends of the game and iconic figures, including Gary Player, Paul McGinley, José María Olazábal, Matteo Manassero, and Emanuele Canonica. It has also hosted high-profile events for global brands such as Mercedes, Brunello Cucinelli, Valentino, and Moncler.

The par-71, 6,295-meter course is nestled within a protected natural area just minutes from the Duna Feniglia Nature Reserve. The unique microclimate created by the lagoon, sea, and Argentario hills ensures the course remains playable year-round.

Designed by David Mezzacane and Baldovino Dassù, and shaped by Brian Jorgensen, the layout is renowned for its technical variety, wide fairways, and seamless integration with the Mediterranean scrub.

The experience is completed by the Argentario Golf Academy, the official PGA National Golf Academy Italy. It offers world-class instruction and custom fitting using TrackMan and Capto technology, with tailored programs for professionals, amateurs, corporate groups, and juniors.

Twenty years since its inception, Argentario Golf Club continues to define itself as a premier destination where elite sport, environmental sustainability, and luxury hospitality converge.
